To install this support package

1. Click the Tools > Package Manager menu option to open the package manager window.
2. Right click on the Freescale KINETIS_120MHZ_SC Updates for CrossWorks For ARM entry and select Install Selected Packages.
3. Click Next to take you to the summary page.
4. Click Next to install the package.
5. Click Finish to close the package manager window.
6. Click the Tools > Show Installed Packages.
7. Click on the Freescale KINETIS_120MHZ_SC Updates for CrossWorks For ARM link to view the package and its contents.

To manually install this support package

1. If you have not done so already, follow the CMSIS 3 Support Package, CrossWorks Tasking Library Package and Freescale Kinetis CPU Support Package installation instructions.
2. Download the file KINETIS_120MHZ_SC_Updates.hzr using your web browser.
3. Click the Tools > Manually Install Packages menu option.
4. Select the file you have just downloaded to install the package.
5. Click the Tools > Show Installed Packages.
6. Click on the Freescale KINETIS_120MHZ_SC Updates for CrossWorks For ARM link to view the package and its contents.

1) Installation

You should download and install the KINETIS_120MHZ_SC from the Freescale website.

When you install this package you will be prompted for the KINETIS_120MHZ_SC installation directory. This package will add CrossWorks project files to the KINETIS_120MHZ_SC installation directory. This package will overwrite the following KINETIS_120MHZ_SC source files:

• src/common/common.h - added toolchain specific header file reference.
• src/drivers/flash/FlashCommandSequence.c - added __attribute__((section(".fast"))) to FlashCommandSequence.
• src/drivers/mcg/mcg.c - added __attribute__((section(".fast"))) to set_sys_dividers.
• src/cpu/sysinit.c - added __attribute__((constructor)) to sys_init.

You may be prompted before the files are overwritten, if so answer yes.

The CrossWorks package installation process will set the CrossWorks global macro KINETIS_120MHZ_SC which is used by the CrossWorks project files to refer to KINETIS_120MHZ_SC directories and files. If you subsequently move the KINETIS_120MHZ_SC installation directory you should modify this macro using the "Tools|Macros" dialog.

This package has been tested with Rev #:1.2 of the KINETIS_120MHZ_SC download.

2) Template Project Files

Template project file for the supported TWR boards are provided:

• TWR-K60F120M (click to load project)
• TWR-K70F120M (click to load project)

After the required project file is loaded:

• Right click in the solution node in the project explorer and select Save Solution As...
• Navigate to the appropriate example directory (e.g src/projects/adc_demo) and specify a filename to save (e.g. demo.hzp) and the newly created project file will be loaded for you.
• Use Build 'Project' to build the example.

The project files reference all the driver files, all of the project source files and add the various directory paths to the include path. You may need to remove from the project (or right click on the file and select "Exclude From Build") if the file isn't for the board you are using. Depending on the example the names of the ISR's specified in the CrossWorks Kinetis startup file may be renamed (use the preprocessor definitions property) to match that of the example.
