This package contains project templates, system files and example programs for the Phytec LPC3250 Board.

CrossWorks Version 4 Installation Instructions

This package can only be installed if you have the following CrossWorks license bolt-ons:

• ARM License

To install this support package

1. Click the Tools > Package Manager menu option to open the package manager window.
2. Right click on the Phytec LPC3250 Board Support Package entry and select Install Selected Packages.
3. Click Next to take you to the summary page.
4. Click Next to install the package.
5. Click Finish to close the package manager window.
6. Click the Tools > Show Installed Packages.
7. Click on the Phytec LPC3250 Board Support Package link to view the package and its contents.

To manually install this support package

1. If you have not done so already, follow the CrossWorks Tasking Library Package and NXP LPC3200 CPU Support Package installation instructions.
2. Download the file Phytec_LPC3250.hzq using your web browser.
3. Click the Tools > Manually Install Packages menu option.
4. Select the file you have just downloaded to install the package.
5. Click the Tools > Show Installed Packages.
6. Click on the Phytec LPC3250 Board Support Package link to view the package and its contents.

Creating Phytec LPC3250 Projects

CrossStudio for ARM supports the Phytec LPC3250 board with loading and debugging applications into SDRAM, into NOR Flash and into the NAND flash.

To create a new Phytec LPC3250 Board project

• Select the File | New | New Project menu item.
• Select Phytec from the Manufacturers category list.
• Select the required project template type from the Project Templates list.
• Set the required project name and location directory.
• Click OK.

To build, load and debug an application running in SDRAM

• Select the project to work on by using the Project | Set Active Project menu option.
• Select the SDRAM placement by clicking on the project node in the project explorer.
• Build the project by using the Build | Build Project menu option.
• Connect to the appropriate target in the target window.
• Download and start debugging the current project by using Debug | Start Debugging.

To load and debug an SDRAM application into the NAND Flash.

• Connect to the appropriate target in the target window.
• Right click on the project node in the project explorer and select Program NAND. Note that the NAND flash must have been initialised by downloading the NAND Flash Init application which is supplied in the loader solution.
• Start debugging by using Debug | Reset and Debug.

To build, load and debug an application running in NOR Flash

• Select the project to work on by using the Project | Set Active Project menu option.
• Select the NOR placement by clicking on the project node in the project explorer.
• Build the project by using the Build | Build Project menu option.
• Connect to the appropriate target in the target window.
• Download and start debugging the current project by using Debug | Start Debugging.

Phytec LPC3250 Project Specifics

Target Reset Script

The reset script for Phytec_LPC3250_Target.js supplies the reset functions to set up the clocks, SDRAM and NOR flash.

Flash Loaders

The loaders (click to load solution) solution has projects to build the flash loader for the external NOR Flash of LPC3250 and the flash loader and secondary boot loader for the NAND Flash. This solution also contains the NAND flash initialisation application.

Board Specific Files

The file Phytec_LPC3250.c provides a led and button pressed function. For a NOR Flash placement build this file includes sdram_pll.c which sets up the clocks, SDRAM and NOR flash.
